New Screengrab! release (and it has a new home) March 8, 2007

Posted by andy in : misc , trackback

Just a quick note to say that the new Screengrab! release (0.92) is available.

This release brings some nice new features (copy to clipboard, no need for Java, different file types, save a selection) and a new swanky website - http://www.screengrab.org - so head on over and check it out!

Is there a way to use this with newer versions of mozilla? Or can I revert back to an older version of Mozilla so that I can use your add on?

I don’t support Mozilla at all. If I ever did, it was an accident.

The current version works with the latest version of Firefox.

Thanks for the nes Screen Grab release.
I downloaded the old one and changed it so it would work with FF 2.0+, thinking it was an abandoned addon. This was only 4 days ago.
Quite a coincidence. Keep it up!

hi andy, unfortunately download and install doesn’t work. I really “love” your tool and waiting to be able to use it again.

(Error -261 while download)

many thanks
Bob

I agree - I get the same download error (Mac OS)

6. Gavin - April 27, 2007

Thanks for fixing the minimum requirement, much appreciated!

Thanks for the great job.

Just wonder if you would add a small tool into it:

Description of my idea:

After grab the screen, I’d like to add a red box around some text area, or an arrow, etc, to indicate the area to be of high attention, before send to someone.

How easy or possible to have this in the future version?

Thanks again.

Thanks for the awesome plugin, any chance of upgrading it to work with beta 2 of 3.0 ? Thanks !

9. Ultral - February 13, 2008

Oh my god, this plug is unbelivable !!!!!

Thanks !

I have a request : Can you add the option to capture all opened widows in firefox in once ?
If you can make this, i think your plug will be the best in the world :)

10. Brian - March 1, 2008

love the plugin. can you make it compatible with FF 3.0b3?

11. Bryn - March 19, 2008

I bet keeping up with FF 3 betas is *so* much fun, but can you update this for beta 4 now please ? :)

to make ScreenGrab FF3 compatible:
1. download `screengrab_-0.93-fx.xpi`:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/file/14983/screengrab_-0.93-fx.xpi
2. .xpi is actually .zip file, so extract `install.rdf` from downloaded `screengrab_-0.93-fx.xpi`
3. edit `install.rdf` - gotta find the line with `em:maxVersion` and change the value from `3.0a3` to something higher like `8.0` ;))
4. put the modyfied `install.rdf` back to the `screengrab_-0.93-fx.xpi` and install it - looks like it works on FF3b5..

Hello Andy,
I really like your tool and it so usefull for me.
However, I just found a “problem”, I mean a limitation of use in the way that it doesn’t grab flash stuff like banner and all…
Is that normal coz you didn’t find a way to grab flash stuff or a bug ?
FYI : I’m using it on Firefox 3.0.1
see you and thanks
