Umm… so I’ve started my new job, moved house and have no internet. Hence, all is quiet onthe Western front.

My words of advice to think about are as follows.

When moving house, always, ALWAYS, hire people to do it for you.

Woohoo!!

I will soon be unemployed. I’m leaving OldJob.com and then I’ll be free. FREEEEE!!

Unfortunately I will then start working at NewCompany.net. What’s with that? Man, I should really learn to take a holiday.

Maybe it’s time to start the webcomic…

I am moving house, which is irritating enough at the best of times (and a topic of which an entire post could be created for your interest and delectation - perhaps as an aid to sleep or somesuch).

In moving house one has to go through the tedious process of communing with the providers of all life’s essentials, requesting the termination of existing services, the creation of new services and handing over the GDP of small African nations for the privelige.

Affluenza

So I bought Affluenza from Borders a while ago while Christie was at a job interview.

It’s a nice anti-consumerism blurb with some excellent points backed up by similarly good research and a few generalisations and assertions thrown in for good measure.

One of those books that has me examining my attitudes toward money and spending and happiness again.

You can read the preface and the first chapter if you want.

That little shopping expedition also produced Tomorrow’s Islam (the book from the Compass special of the same name), which I think will be discussed at some later date.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren’t for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can’t stay out of trouble.
